Government & Defense applications

Many missions.
One need for a clearer picture.

Recon is developing modular operational-awareness technology for environments where useful information arrives from different people, sensors, systems and domains. The missions vary, but the underlying problem is often the same: bring those fragments into context without adding unnecessary burden to the people doing the work.

These are application directions, not deployed solutions or complete mission workflows. The development record separates working foundations from planned integrations.

Application direction

Search, rescue & disaster operations

During a search, a team’s last reported position may be separate from a sighting or changing weather. After flooding, responders also need to relate water conditions, aviation activity and reports of damaged infrastructure.

The priority is useful context for the responder in the field. Janus maintains an evolving world model from supported observations, keeping source history and uncertainty visible.

Application direction

Public safety & emergency management

Responders and coordinating agencies may need to move validated incident information between separate organizational systems. That exchange needs clear rules for what information is accepted, how it is handled and whether delivery succeeds.

Charon addresses governed information exchange. Its current library and command-line foundation is validated with test fixtures; production cross-network transport remains development work.

Application direction

Air & maritime awareness

An aircraft position or vessel report gains context when related to weather, water conditions and nearby activity. Operators also need to know when an observation was made and where it came from.

Wayfinder acquires and normalizes supported aviation, maritime and environmental sources for use in Janus. Argus offers an optional 3D view of that operational state.

Application direction

Spectrum awareness

When the question concerns received RF activity, Recon RF can be used independently for spectrum investigation. It has demonstrated live ADS-B and UAT reception and native decoding of real aircraft broadcasts.

Reception depends on hardware, antenna, location and RF conditions. Broader classification, direction finding and optional Janus integration remain development directions.

Application direction

Infrastructure & mission support

A damaged access road, a facility report and nearby field activity may be recorded separately. Relating their locations and timing could help teams understand changing conditions around critical facilities, transportation assets, ports and utilities.

The operational need is shared context for mission support. Supported observations provide a starting point; facility-specific data and workflows require additional integration and validation.

Application direction

Operational assessment & after-action analysis

Assessing an entire operation means examining how decisions, resources, coordination and changing conditions shaped its outcome. An after-action review may also ask which alternative approaches could have helped and what could improve, using traceable evidence while keeping conflicting accounts and gaps visible.

Aquila research currently demonstrates evidence-based investigation through the Ninth Legion historical program. Its future direction includes whole-operation assessment and improvement analysis, with spatial reconstruction or replay used where they help answer the question.

The mission defines the mix.

Recon technologies are modular by design. A mission may need one component, several working together or compatible information exchanged with other systems. The application should determine the architecture, not the other way around.
